Our Colchester

Launch Event at The Curzon

This morning we launched the City Centre Skills & Employment Forum, part of the City Workers Hub and a core component of our five year investment plan in the city centre.

We welcomed a wealth of experts to The Curzon, Colchester, bringing together expertise in the world of recruitment, skills and training. Together we discussed future partner working and ways to streamline support for businesses.

Joanna O’Connor, Work-based Learning Manager at the University of Essex delivered an introductory talk for attendees and provided a fantastic springboard for discussion. Posing the question - how do we bridge the gap between Colchester employers and our large student population?

Employee retention, upskilling and recruitment challenges were hot topics of the day.

We look forward to strengthening these relationships, celebrating best practice and ensuring the fantastic resource and services that are already available are being triaged efficiently. If you'd like to learn more about the future of the City Centre Skills and Employment Forum then please reach out and look out for updates in our regular BID newsletter.
